What kind of work did you do before joining WeLearn?

Before joining WeLearn, I was working in tourism.

I was involved in a wide range of activities, from attracting customers on social media to setting up tours, working with travel agencies, and coordinating events and activities on site.

What was your motivation or reason for joining WeLearn?

The tourism industry was hit hard by the effects of the Corona virus.

I understood the reality that there was no job without tourists coming into Japan, so I considered what kind of work I could do that would require less face-to-face interaction.

Secondly, in my previous job, I had to travel around and work in many different places, however, I felt that I would be better suited to working in a more steady environment, so, I moved into the IT industry.

Do you have any experience working abroad or learning English?

I have no overseas experience other than Japan.

In Taiwan, just like in Japan, English is included in education courses at schools from kindergarten to graduate school, so I feel like I’ve been learning English all my life.

What kind of work do you do now?

Currently, I belong to a team of 5 people, all of whom are very experienced. I am involved in projects mainly related to Salesforce CRM Analytics, Sales Enablement, etc.

What is the most important thing in your work?

Communication. I think it is an essential skill to build relationships with customers and solve problems within the team.

How do you communicate with team members in a fully remote work environment?

I use chat tools every day, but there are some parts that are difficult to communicate with only text, so I am working on progress reports and problem solving with video/voice chat, as well as collaborative tools.

Can you tell us about a time that left an impression on you, during your interactions with customers?

Requests come from various industries, so at first I felt a barrier in communication. After continuing to work with team members to overcome that wall, I was able to build a relationship of trust with the customers, and they began to consult me on issues other than Salesforce.

Are there any unique features of WeLearn?

Since I work remotely, I believe that self-study is important. The company also provides various support for learning. For example, English classes and Japanese classes for foreign employees, etc. If used well, it will lead to good personal growth.

How would you describe your WeLearn coworkers?

There are many multinational employees and people with a wealth of experience, and there are many people around me, from whom I can learn a lot.

Are there any points that make you feel glad that you joined WeLearn?

1. I am able to save time commuting to and from work

2. I can cook my own lunch fresh everyday

3. With my own laptop, I can work from anywhere

4. I am surround yourself with highly motivated and learned people

5. There are many experienced people

6. There are study sessions for Japanese, English, etc. other than professional knowledge at work

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy singing karaoke, playing violin & piano, chilling out at home with jazz music, and shopping.

Do you have a good work-life balance?

I work remotely, so I cook most of my lunches. It also allows me to switch from work mode to rest mode, and helps keep my work-life well balanced.

How do you spend your time after work and on weekends?

After work, I often do housework, go shopping, or practice a musical instrument. I belong to an orchestra, so I attend rehearsal on weekends. Also, I enjoy exploring around the city.
